The Same, Everyday.

I'm simplifying a lot these days.  That's either scary, or I can finally take a breath and hug myself for figuring some things out!

I've talked about uniforms before, but now I really think I'm living the dream.   Since I've adopted a part-time in the office/part-time at home work schedule, I no longer need to dress up in my prototypical 9-to-5 outfits.

Yup. I'm living the stuff of dreams people.  Here's what you'll find me in these days.

A button down long sleeved shirt, light blue or white.  This one's from The Gap

A pair of skinny jeans.  These are from Madewell.

An army jacket of some sort - because it's a war out there.  This one is Current/Elliott.

And now that Fall's in full swing, I'm itching to add a few things to my basics - a handbag and a new pair of boots, for starters.

And some amazing ankle boots from Emerson Fry  which I will probably only wear for an hour before switching into these.

I will say, with this simplified outlook on dressing, I find myself needing to be sparkly in other ways.  I mean, I don't want to just disappear into the background.  That's no fun!

I have been seeing a lot of delicate gold rings on multiple fingers, on both hands.  How do girls do this? They must just leave them on because I'd imagine that's a lot of trouble to take-off and put-on everyday.  Or I'm just lazy when it comes to accessorizing. I can barely put a watch on, after my wedding ring.

And I've been pinning a bunch of outfits with leather (or leatherette pants).  Hey, they're like jeans - but more with more 'tude..

If the latter items make it into my repertoire, I'd be surprised and self-congratulatory, but sometimes you need to be put in a box (or uniform) to push yourself a teensy bit further.    Know what I mean? XO
