We started remodeling our kitchen late last year. And it's 75% of the way there! Is this normal? Probably not, but it's a matter of time, budget and life. We JUST got our walls patched, now all we have to do is - tile, paint, get a new fridge, new kitchen stools and new dishes, glasses, flatware.
That's it! Oh my.
Gotta keep pushing through. So, on to the tile! I was pretty set on Heath Ceramics - but it's, sadly, way out of budget. I scoured the internet and by some miracle, found Fireclay Tile. The product is made in California, and some offerings are recycled! They have such a great selection of color/finishes and have the handcrafted feel I was looking for. After meeting with our installer and receiving a few tile samples, I'm happy to report: we have a winner!
Perhaps I'll wait to share which one we picked. Can you wait until sometime this summer? Because that's likely when all of this will be done. Haha! I know, I can't either!
We went with Milky Way (top right). It's on a recycled-clay base, which means it's not as bright as those with a white clay body, more of a neutral/earthy tone and the finish is somewhat matte. Fingers crossed that we made the right decision.
I must say, I wish we had a brick project going on - because Fireclay has some really beautiful finishes on their brick tile. I'm especially enamored with their Fern and Parakeet tile. I can get lost in those cool colors.
