La Gourd-ita

I haven't fallen victim to the Pumpkin Spice (PS) craze.

I mean, okay, I bought a PS latte at Starbucks once this season, and the limited edition PS Oreos (to share with coworkers at a weekly chip party) and I purchased PS-flavored coffee (I know - the horror!) to brew at home.

The truth is, I was PS-crazy way, way before there was a craze.  Just like when my favorite indie band gets some mainstream success, I was a little annoyed with everyone jumping on the PS bandwagon.  I blamed PS for being so awesome. But you know what? I got over it.  All this acceptance of PS led to the proliferation of PS-goodness in almost every aisle of the grocery store and cafes everywhere.  And the very fact that people were into it, meant that they were excited about the holidays.  Geez, I can be such a hater!

So today, I will go out, wear my most cozy scarf and knit hat (in 70 weather), throw my arms open and celebrate the season with a gigantic slice of pumpkin pie! I invite you to do the same.

Also, if I were baking, here's what I'd be testing to get my fill of the season.
