Wild Spring

The last owner of our new house was retired and liked her time in the garden. She has an interesting mix of stuff - roses, irises, garlic, kumquats, a variety of trees and my favorite fried egg flowers!  The latter hasn't bloomed yet, but you can be sure I will be there with my iPhone when they do! Here are some snapshots of wilderness from the yards:

Some pretty perfect red roses. She grew a few varieties all over the backyard - yellow, rust, pink and white.

And though she didn't plant these - I'm pinching myself for these beautiful oak trees that line the sidewalks. They give the most magnificent shade.

Also, our dogs LOVE running around the backyard.  It's been awhile since they've been able to do that. I think my favorite part is when Melo jumps into a patch of plants and rolls around. My least favorite part is when she jumps into the fountain of still, green water.
