New Bath

Fairview's existing bathrooms are 90% done.  Just need to install mirrors and some miscellaneous hardware. We added a new bathroom (bringing our total bathroom count to 2.5 - two 3/4s and 1 full). This will be the main guest bath and the one I will use the most - because I got to pick the tile and fixtures. Here's a sneak peek of where we are.

First up, finally I get a patterned cement tile somewhere in this place! In hindsight, I would have gone with something a bit more bold, maybe with more color - but this tile is very pretty.

This bathroom is the only one in the house with a tub.  All the trim in the bathroom is Kohler Purist - I really wanted it in Vibrant Modern Gold, but it was backordered for like a loooong time and I needed it NOW so I went with the more subtle Vibrant Modern Bronze. I think long term, this was the better option.

The shower niche turned out great. All it needs is some blogger-requisite Aesop toiletries and my beloved Davines hair products.

Below is the vanity space - a little tricky with a window above the sink, but I'd like to install a horizontal metal mirror on the wall to the right of the sink and a small marble or brass shelf just below the window for a small plants crystals and a candle.

check out that prismatic vortex light coming in through the window!

I recently bought a  light fixture to go above the window, above the vanity. With the original wood beams on the vaulted ceilings, I went with a simple copper bulb fixture - although I recently saw this one from Cedar and Moss in gold with some pink light bulbs. That could be really pretty too - just not sure it would fit next to the wood beam.

I recently purchased a painting when I was in Columbus OH for a work trip. I worked with Allie Lehman when I was working at another company. All the stars aligned - she was having a show in her studio the very day I had some time before my flight out. I wanted to support her - so I dropped by and purchased a new piece of art for our house.  This one is called Zig Zag and would look great in the little entry next to the bathroom.

That's where we are with the bathrooms. More updates to come...FINALLY. This past weekend, we moved everything out of storage to our house - the next few weeks will be about unpacking and getting settled in.  Just in time for my favorite time of year: fall.
